It’s made from fully waterproof, windproof and breathable fabric, with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating and sealed seams that no rain can penetrate. The tight weave keeps blustery wind at bay and the cuff straps are fully adjustable to stop water getting in this point too.

The lining has a maple-tex climate regulator laminated with a TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) membrane. All this means you’re kept warm and dry by an advanced jacket that’s also very flexible, resists abrasion and is easily cleaned.

It’s the attention to detail that really makes the difference. The two-way front zip can be drawn right up into a high neck that protects you against the weather, or adjusted to allow ventilation. There’s a rain gutter so that water is directed away from the jacket to keep you dry. The detachable hood draws closely round your face with a drawstring to seal out weather here.

Baleno jackets are very well-equipped with pockets and the Nottingham is no exception, with large front cartridge pockets that close with popper flaps, plus two cosy fleece-lined handwarmers and an inner pocket for small essentials when you’re out in the field.
