Tried & Tested: Mountain Horse Aurora Front Zip Paddock Boots

These first-class boots were launched by Mountain Horse for the Spring Summer season in 2019. Mountain Horse were so confident in their design and technology that the boots were advertised as “The most comfortable shoes we have ever made!” – a bold statement considering short paddock boots are very popular in the equestrian world and are manufactured by several brands. But I must congratulate Mountain Horse as these are definitely the most comfortable short boots I have ever worn!

A little background on Mountain Horse; since its establishment in 1988, they have continued to make durable and relevant riding gear. They are driven by a strong passion for horses and the lifestyle around them. Now, let’s focus on the boots…

We stock three different designs of the Aurora boot; the Aurora Front Zip Paddock Boots Brown, the Aurora Front Zip Paddock Boots Black and the Aurora Lace Front Paddock Boots Black. All three are made in sturdy full grain leather, with elasticated sides to support your foot and contribute to the best possible fit. As well as being durable, the YKK metal zipper in the front assists with keeping the classic paddock boot look whilst having a touch of modern stylishness. The soft moisture wicking mesh lining provides extra comfort, whilst keeping your feet warm and dry when riding, no matter what the weather throws at you.

But what is it that makes these boots so special? Well, they’re made with the unique and all new Vertycore 4D Shock Impact Reduction Technology™, produced by Mountain Horse themselves. And I can tell you, from experience, this has helped to produce exceptional boots! How was my experience with the Aurora boots?

To start with, as you already know, these are the most comfortable short boots I have ever worn. Every time I wear them, I am always thinking of how light they feel on, and how soft the sole really is. I have to say, I’m not the biggest paddock boot wearer, however since having these gorgeous things, I have not stopped wearing them! I use these for wearing around the yard, mucking out, walking the dog, and if I need to have a ride (but can’t be bothered to change into my riding boots) I just wear these; they’re very supportive, enjoyable to wear and look great when in the saddle. One thing I want to highlight about these boots is the little to no wear-in time – our prayers have been answered! I know all us equestrians dread breaking in our lovely, new, leather boots. NO more! My feet were just as happy as I was after the first day of wearing these.

Another great thing about these boots is you don’t need to limit them to just wearing them around horses. Most people love wearing paddock boots to create that relaxed, stylish equestrian/country look, and I am 100% for it. I have previously paired the boots with some jeans (light or dark) when out shopping, walking the dog or just a casual day out. It’s not only the design that I love, with its subtle yet elegant branding, but the deep, rich brown leather is a stunning colour – great for any outfit! Every feature contributes to the versatility of these wonderful boots. Not only do I adore wearing them, but have received many compliments and positive comments whilst wearing the Aurora boots – a bonus, really!
