The right footwear depends primarily on the terrain and conditions you are likely to encounter. For formal driven shooting, a smart leather or neoprene lined field boot provides warmth, comfort and an appropriate appearance through a long cold day on the peg. For rough shooting, stalking and walked-up days, a waterproof lace-up boot with ankle support and a grippy sole provides the stability and protection needed for varied ground. For wet conditions and farmyard work, a good wellington boot is the most practical choice.
