Introducing Something New

Something we don’t talk about enough in our equestrian community is sun protection and skincare. Being out in the elements all day, with dust, dirt, and sweat (and manure) mixed in. The hot days can be cruel to our skin, so we have something to help you...and your horse!

Starting in 2010, Sun Bum created products to protect family and friends - and have since, grown phenomenally. Based on Cocoa Beach, they continue to create sun protection, whilst caring about the planet, animals, and people.  Vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free, and reef compliant. 

Did you know? Hawaii State Legislature approved a bill that banned sunscreens containing oxybenzone and octinoxate last year, but the FDA is still assessing how to regulate “safe” sunscreen ingredients. Sun Bum chooses ingredients that meet the requirements set by Hawaii’s recent legislation.

Sun Bum sells a broad spectrum of sunscreens, and are easy to apply - The sunscreens come in various application forms, from a spray to a roll-on to the classic lotion. Sun Bum will keep you from feeling “greased up” after applying, whilst feeling soft and moisturized. Plus it smells good, too. We've heard, a little goes a long way.

Whilst Sun Bum isn't advertised as equine sun cream, we suggest using something like the Sunscreen face stick with SPF 30 on your horse's nose.  The face stick is easy to apply and their broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection with Vitamin E gives the ultimate protection in a convenient way.  Plus, it's water-resistant for up to 80 minutes!
