When your horse needs additional protection on the hind fetlocks, for instance during schooling and while jumping, here’s a clever idea from the boot specialists, Woof Wear.
They’re general purpose fetlock boots with a tough, well-padded strike pad. Made from 5.5 mm closed cell neoprene, the boots stay pliable and light even when working in wet conditions, since cellular neoprene does not absorb water. That means you know the boots offer a superb level of defence for your horse against knocks and strike injuries.
The boots have recessed stitching which means they last longer, so you can be sure you’ll be using and loving these boots for a long time to come. They fasten very securely with a double locking strap system. Simply slip the boot down the inside of the horse’s leg, with the lie of the hair, so that the strike pad cups and protects the fetlock. Then close the main, fluffy supporting strap towards the back of the leg and secure with the second strap.
These great boots are so easy to care for, too. Just pop them in the washing machine on a 30°C maximum wash, followed by a gentle spin and they’ll quickly dry, ready for your next session.
