What is the inspiration behind the Stretch & Flex Wraps?
A horse called Timmy was the inspiration behind these innovative support wraps. Timmy had extremely sensitive skin, which were rubbed by other boots. He needed something soft and comfortable, but also something suitable to keep his legs protected, cool and allow him to move freely when dressage training. As a result, the Stretch & Flex Wraps were born!
What are the materials used in the Stretch & Flex Wraps?
Stomatex: Originally developed for human athletes, Stomatex® was designed to provide four-way stretch, to enable use around mobile joints, and an outstanding ability to keep the skin dry. It is commonly used in the manufacture of heat acclimatisation suits, padding for wheelchairs, special wetsuits and sports injury support bandages. The material mimics the way a leaf ‘breathes’, which allows the horses leg to stay cool and maintains an ideal skin temperature over an extended period of time. The way the material works is by efficiently moving trapped vapour molecules from beneath the fabric by the flexing action of minute dome shaped chambers which contain a tiny pore in the centre. This also gives it it’s unique appearance.
Automotive Grade Cushioning Spacer Mesh: This mesh is strategically placed over the vulnerable tendon area for extra protection. The spacer fabric has an additional jersey fabric on the inside of the boot to create an even softer lining against your horses’ leg. Ideal to act as a ‘cushion’ and comfortable to wear, the spacer fabric is also fantastic at letting heat and moisture pass through easily to get sweat and warmth away from the skin.
Who are the Stretch & Flex Schooling Wraps for?
Primarily designed for schooling or a smart, comfortable, and protective competition boot, Stretch and Flex Wraps are shaped to fit comfortably around the contours of the horse’s leg including the fetlock, making them ideal for horses with knocks, scars or splints, for young or big moving horses, or simply to provide extra protection around the fetlock joint.
These features mean that the Training Wraps are useful for horses and ponies recovering from injuries, those with joint problems such as arthritis and in providing gentle cushioning over scars and splints.
Stretch and Flex Training Wraps are available in Black and White and in an array of sizes, including a ‘Medium Narrow‘ fit for those with finer legs, to make sure you can have the perfect fit for your horse on both front and hind legs.
How do I care for the Stretch & Flex Wraps?
The boots can be washed off with a rinse from the hose or if needing a slightly more thorough wash, they are machine washable at 30 degrees Celsius. Leave them to air dry away from a direct heat source and they will be dry and ready to use in no time!

Wat is de inspiratiebron achter de Stretch & Flex-bandages
Een paard genaamd Timmy vormde de inspiratiebron voor deze innovatieve steunbandages. Timmy had een uiterst gevoelige huid, die door andere bandages werd geschuurd. Hij had iets zachts en comfortabels nodig, maar ook iets dat zijn benen beschermde, koel hield en hem in staat stelde zich vrij te bewegen tijdens de dressuurtraining. Zo ontstonden de Stretch & Flex Wraps!
Welke materialen worden er gebruikt in de Stretch & Flex-bandages
Stomatex: Stomatex® is oorspronkelijk ontwikkeld voor menselijke atleten en ontworpen om in vier richtingen mee te rekken, zodat het rond beweeglijke gewrichten kan worden gedragen, en om de huid uitstekend droog te houden. Het wordt vaak gebruikt bij de productie van warmteacclimatisatiepakken, vulling voor rolstoelen, speciale wetsuits en steunverbanden voor sportblessures. Het materiaal bootst de manier na waarop een blad ‘ademt’, waardoor het paardenbeen koel blijft en gedurende een langere periode een ideale huidtemperatuur behoudt. Het materiaal werkt door opgesloten waterdampmoleculen efficiënt weg te voeren van onder de stof door de buigbeweging van minuscule koepelvormige kamertjes die in het midden een piepklein porie bevatten. Dit geeft het ook zijn unieke uiterlijk.
Spacer-gaas met demping van automobielkwaliteit: Dit gaas is strategisch geplaatst over het kwetsbare peesgebied voor extra bescherming. De spacer-stof is aan de binnenkant van de bandage voorzien van een extra laag jersey, waardoor een nog zachtere voering tegen het been van je paard ontstaat. De spacer-stof fungeert ideaal als ‘kussen’ en is comfortabel om te dragen; bovendien laat het warmte en vocht gemakkelijk door, waardoor zweet en warmte van de huid worden afgevoerd.
