Who is already tired of the cold, wet, dark evenings?! It's time to treat yourself to help through the Winter. We all spend silly amounts of time out in the bitter winter weather, so anything that keeps us warm whilst riding is a necessary addition to our wardrobe.  Ariat has launched the new Tri Factor Frost! These are the perfect legwear for riding and around the yard. Using their unique and much-loved Tri-Factor fit, they have created this new insulated breech. Featuring softshell fabric bonded fleece for incredible warmth and wind protection.

Special Features

Ariat's core control technology helps to provide a slimming fit, whilst feeling supported on your legs and waist. Ariat's own calf fit system alleviates pressure points and friction when wearing your riding boot. Adding to the premium comfort. It features Ariat's V3 waistband panel for superior stretch and recovery - aiding to the flattering fit and support.  Moisture movement technology wicks away moisture from the skin. This way, after a long ride, you won't feel damp between your skin and the breech.  Of course, Ariat's silicone grip full seat in their unique pattern fo optimal grip in the saddle. As mentioned before, the new softshell bonded fleece - which feels beautiful to touch! Lastly, some finishing touches from Ariat; the faux back flap pockets, subtle but professional branding, and distinctive logo trim.

 

    

 

What's the sizing and fit like?

Personally, I would say these breeches fit true to size. Normally, some might size up when looking at thermal or insulated legwear, due to the thicker material. However, due to the bonded fleece material and smart technology for warmth, the thickness of the Tri-Factor Frost does not differ much from the normal breech. For thermal breeches, these are considerably lightweight - another bonus! One of my favourite features is the thick waistband paired with the high-waisted fit.  They look super flattering on and due to the higher waist feel fabulous when worn.

     

  

 

What did I think?

From above, you can already tell I love these breeches - for sure, my new favourite for winter! My first impression of the breeches, I was a little apprehensive of how warm they would really be. Personally, I find it very difficult to keep warm when at the yard and when riding, especially on my legs. I've also found it hard to find thermal or insulted legwear without having to wear a couple of layers.  After wearing these on different occasions, I can safely say these are some of the warmest breeches I have worn! Perfect for chilly days doing the yard jobs and especially when hacking out. When riding, these block the crisp breeze, keeping you absolutely warm. Now I don't dread the cold evening rides!

I especially like the faux pocket detail on the back, as it adds a feature to look at, that isn't too flashy. Along with the Ariat logo in the middle of the V3 panel waistband. However, the only downside I found with these breeches is the front pockets - It's great they have some usable pockets - but, it is near impossible to fit much, if not anything, in these front ones. Majority of the time in the Winter we all ride in a gilet or jacket that will have pockets for our phone, keys, etc so it's not a dominant issue. I find in some breeches, the silicone full seat can be too 'sticky' or have a glossy feel/look to them, which personally I don't get along with. On the Tri-Factor Frost, this silicone print is a subtle dark grey that bodes well with the black material, and is the perfect amount of grip for riding! Priced competitively at £139.99, these are a confident buy for any rider.

The slimming fit you know and love now with added fleece to keep you warm and toasty in the saddle regardless of temperature. This is the must-have breech for winter!
