With the prediction of September’s drier, calmer conditions and slightly above-average temperatures, it’s a great time to focus on comfort and versatility in your riding wardrobe.

Burghley Horse Trials

Burghley is right around the corner, and it's one of the most prestigious events on the equestrian calendar. This event is a must-see for any equestrian enthusiast, featuring top riders and horses from around the world competing in dressage, cross-country, and show jumping. Make sure you're geared up with the best attire for this world-class event.

Event Information

The 2024 Burghley Horse Trials will be held from September 5th to 8th. The event will feature top riders and horses from around the world, including Olympic gold medalists and seasoned five-star competitors.

Key Dates and Highlights:

Wednesday, September 4th: The event kicks off with the first horse inspection at 4:00 PM in the Main Arena.
Thursday and Friday: Dressage begins at 9:30 AM each day, with masterclasses from renowned equestrians like Henrietta Knight and Carl Hester during the lunch breaks.
Saturday, September 7th: The Cross-Country phase, the highlight of the event, starts at 11:00 AM. Expect thrilling performances as riders navigate the challenging course.
Sunday, September 8th: The final day includes the final horse inspection at 9:00 AM, show jumping, and the prize presentation at 3:45 PM.

Notable Competitors:

Ros Canter, the reigning European Champion, will compete with her top horse, Lordships Graffalo.
Oliver Townend, last year’s Burghley winner, returns with Cooley Rosalent.
Other top entries include Tom McEwen, Harry Meade, and Tim Price from New Zealand, ensuring a highly competitive field.

The event also offers a range of other activities, including the Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse finals, the Shetland Pony Grand National, and the SEIB Racehorse to Riding Horse HOYS Qualifierâ€‹.

For those unable to attend in person, Burghley TV will provide comprehensive coverage of the event.

Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials

The stunning grounds of Blenheim Palace set the stage for another thrilling equestrian event. Known for its challenging courses and beautiful scenery, Blenheim is an event that combines history with high-level competition. Get ready for a spectacular show of skill and style.

The 2024 Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials will take place from September 19 to 22 . This four-day event will feature top-level competition across dressage, cross-country, and showjumping.

Schedule:

Thursday, September 19: Dressage begins.
Friday, September 20: More dressage competitions continue.
Saturday, September 21: Cross-country day.
Sunday, September 22: The event concludes with showjumping, which will determine the final standings.

Competitors:

Expect to see some of the top names in the sport, including international competitors and rising stars in eventing. The exact lineup is still being finalised, but the event traditionally attracts elite riders from around the world.

Additional Highlights:

In addition to the competitions, there will be various attractions like the Shetland Pony Grand National, a dog agility display, and shopping opportunities ranging from equestrian gear to luxury goods. Special guests and celebrities, such as radio presenter Sara Cox and equestrian influencer ThisEsme, will also make appearances during the event.
